Without knowing the details I'm not going to comment on specifics but it's the underlying issue of minority Vs majority rights that interest me here (as they do in many other areas now in the UK). From first principles why / when do the rights of an individual outweigh the rights of virtually everyone else? Why is the risk of ongoing criminality potentially affecting many innocent people less important than the risks to an individual's 'family life'? Why? Shouldn't the state be prioritising the protection of the majority? Why doesn't it now think and act this way?
It’s great that various bodies highlight the Alice in Wonderland nature of what was once a great country.
